50/50 Mental Training
Our body and brain are connected. Athletes have always trained their bodies, but rarely do we think to train our minds. Most people would agree the game is at least 50% mental, oddly, we point to a lack of confidence or lack of mental toughness for physical mistakes in games. Mental skills training aims to equip student athletes with heightened awareness on how they can use positive strategies to alleviate the unavoidable negative feelings that arise in sports.
**For any players (in any sport) 7th grade and older
First session:
Looking to schedule prepaid sessions:
-These sessions will be 30 minutes long and take place over zoom (the link will be sent to you the day of your session). "Homework" or activities to do on your own will also be assigned. Package options are not refundable, but do not expire. Use as you wish.
What it isn't:
-Me telling players what their parents want them to hear. (However parents are more than welcome to sit in on sessions!)
-Off court therapy sessions. (While I am here to support in any way possible, I am not a licensed psychologist or therapist and therefore don't want to overstep any boundaries. I have a Psychology Degree from UW-Madison and will draw upon examples from my own experience as well as shared experiences of clients I have worked with)
-Me pushing any ideologies or religious beliefs on anyone

Why go to Trent?
I let the fear of failure and judgement effect how I played the game and I don't want that for anyone else. Since then, I have learned numerous strategies to help combat performance anxiety and build resilience, leadership, work ethic, and positive coping mechanisms. I have worked with over four hundred players in an individual or small group setting and have witnessed and discussed numerous challenges athletes face on and off the court. I will draw upon both personal playing and coaching experience during sessions and aim to help you bridge the gap between where you are and hope to be. Athletes can be in any sport and can use these sessions to find peace of mind whether they are going through a tough time now. or want to simply get ahead and learn tools to help them with the mental side of the game.
